The 2026 World Congress of the IMA will take place 1-3 July 2026 in Brussels, and will be hosted by the Center of Applied Public Economics (CAPE) at the UCLouvain Saint-Louis - Bruxelles.

The IMA World Congress 2026
The IMA World Congress seeks to unite researchers from academia, international institutions, public administrations and others, in a friendly environment to discuss research and work on microsimulation models or on related problems. Topics include:
- Applications of microsimulation modelling: Models of the Tax and Transfer systems; Dynamic microsimulation models, which incorporate long term demographic change; Spatial models; Transport models; Health models; Environmental models; Firm level models; Farm models; …
- Research with methods related to microsimulation: Labour supply models; Inequality analysis; Agent-based modeling…
- Methodological contributions: synthethic data; data fusion; forecasting methods, machine learning for microsimulation…

- Submission of abstracts: December 1st ‘25 - January 31st ‘26.
- Notifications of acceptance: February 25th.
- Early bird registration: March 1st - April 15th - €390 (€290 student rate). (including €50 IMA participation fee)
- Normal registration: April 16th - June 5th - €490 (€390 student rate). (including €50 IMA participation fee)

Conference venue: Brussels and the UCLouvain Saint-Louis Bruxelles
The 2026 IMA World Congress is organized in the city center of Brussels, and hosted by the Center of Applied Public Economics (CAPE) at the UCLouvain Saint-Louis - Bruxelles.
- Local organizer: CAPE is a multidisciplinary (economics, statistics, mathematics, law…) research center that specializes in public policy evaluation. All research is centered around a collective research project named Beamm, a family of online, open-access tax-benefits microsimulation platforms (see, e.g., Beamm.brussels).
- Conference venue: the UCLovain Saint-Louis campus is conveniently located in the historical city centre of Brussels, at walking distance from both the Brussels Central and North stations, and at a 10 minutes train ride from Brussels National Airport.
- Brussels: Many historical Brussels landmarks are at walking distance from the conference venue.
- Hotels: The proximity of the European Parliament and Commission, business district and public administrations make that many dozens of hotels, for all tastes and budgets, are located at walking distance from the conference venue.
